How to brew with a V60
☕ How to Brew Coffee with a V60 (1:16 Ratio) ☕
What You'll Need:
- V60 Dripper
- V60 paper filter
- Freshly ground coffee Black Diamond Coffee
(medium-fine grind, like sea salt) - Hot water (just off boil, around
200°F / 93°C) - Gooseneck kettle
- Mug or carafe
- Scale (recommended)
- Timer
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Prep the Filter
- Set the paper filter into your
V60. - Rinse with hot water to remove
paper taste and preheat the brewer. - Discard the rinse water from your
mug or carafe.
2. Add Coffee
- 20g of coffee and pour 320g of water (1:16 ratio).
- Place your V60 setup on a scale
and tare to zero.
3. Bloom (Start the Brew)
- Start your timer.
- 40–50g of water to evenly saturate the coffee grounds.
- 30–45 seconds to release CO₂ and enhance flavor.
4. Continue Pouring
- Slowly pour the remaining water
in a circular motion, staying centered. - Add water in small stages or a
continuous steady pour until you reach 320g. - 2:00–2:30 minutes.
5. Let It Drain
- Allow the brew to fully drain
through the filter. - 2:45 to 3:15 minutes.
6. Serve & Enjoy
- Remove the V60, give your coffee
a swirl, and enjoy a smooth, flavorful cup!
Tips for Best Results:

What You’ll Need:
- Toddy
- Cold Brew System
- 12 oz (340g)
Black Diamond Cold Brew Blend, coarsely ground
- 7 cups (1.65 liters) cold, filtered water
- Toddy felt filter
- Rubber stopper
- Toddy brewing container & glass decanter
- Spoon or spatula
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Insert the Stopper & Filter
- rubber stopper in the bottom of the brewing container.
- felt filter, then press it into the bottom inside groove of the container.
2. Add Coffee & Water in Layers
- 6 oz (170g) of your Black Diamond Cold Brew Blend.
- 3 cups of water, evenly saturating the grounds.
- 6 oz (170g) of coffee.
- 4 cups of water.
3. Steep
- room temperature for 12–24 hours, depending on your desired strength.
4. Drain the Brew
- Toddy glass decanter and allow it to drain fully (about 15 minutes).
5. Store & Serve
- dilute 1 part concentrate with 2–3 parts water, milk, or ice, depending on your preference.
